JD Appraisal & Associates was opened for business in the year 2000 by James P. Duca, who still owns JD Appraisal today. Mr. Duca has been a Realtor, having earned a Broker License, since 1978 in Massachusetts. He began his real estate career by successful working for reputable real estate brokerages such as Better Homes and Garden, and ERA. Mr. Duca started appraising full time in 1990 when he started working for a local Appraisal Company. After 10 years of professional appraising, and becoming one of the first few licensed appraisers when licensing become first available (number 1019) he became head appraiser at the local appraisal company. He enjoyed the responsibility and years passed when Mr. Duca decided to pursue his own business with JD Appraisal & Associates. He started the company with a few local clients and a lot of hard work. Michael Duca became a trainee in 2002, having worked for JD Appraisal & Associates during High School as a researcher, secretary, and typist. After training for 5 years with Mr. Duca in the field and with the MBREA in the classroom, Michael became fully licensed as an Appraiser in Massachusetts, and FHA/HUD approved going on to achieve a Certified Residential Appraiser certification/license in 2008.
